Wounded Warrior Visit
Ft. Bragg, NC
October 26, 2008
Members of Rolling Thunder North Carolina chapters 1 (Fayetteville), 2 (Statesville), 4 (Raleigh), & 6 (Winston-Salem) met at Ft Bragg on Sunday, Oct 26th to visit with troops being cared for by project Wounded Warrior and present them with special Rolling Thunder t-shirts. Along with the shirts was an "Oktoberfest" and everyone seemed to really enjoy the camaraderie and refreshments. It was a great day. Thanks to all who came out to participate. Below is a message from Jeff Phillips, RTNC2...
"As Chairman of the Wounded Warrior T-shirt project, I would like to thank all who turned out to go to Ft. Bragg Sunday.
John Parker of Chapter 1 made the arrangements with Ft. Bragg. As our state director had mentioned to us in the past, he would like for all chapters to work together. On this event, we had 4 out of 7 chapters represented. Great turnout.
All the soldiers we met were in good spirits and they all liked the shirts that we gave them. We went through the building door to door. Some of the ladies enjoyed the young man that answered his door with his towel (only).
All in all it was a great day for us. Hank was right, gathering with the other chapters makes for great events. We had Chapter1, Chapter 2, Chapter 4, and Chapter 6. We all felt very welcome by the other chapters and the Wounded.
We even spent some time with the people who run the Wounded Warrior Project who take care of the wounded right from the battlefield. It was a great experience for all."
Thank You
Jeff Phillips
