Lost Heroes Art Quilt Escort
Ride
March 13, 2010
Members of RTNC1 provided escort duty to the Lost Heroes Art Quilt on a small part of its journey across the United States. Today, the quilt was traveling from Columbia, SC to the Airborne and Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville, NC where it will be on display through March 20, 2010.
We met up at VFW Post 670 and had a great turnout for this very important event. We rode down to South of the Border and met up with the folks who had picked up the quilt and its display earlier in the day. From there, we escorted them in to Fayetteville and the museum, then helped unload the trailer and set everything up.
It was a great day, as the weather was good and the temps were mild. Most importantly, it was truly an honor to assist the Gold Star Mothers who were involved today. Thanks to RTNC4 out of Raleigh, NC for the use of their trailer and to their members who joined us on today's ride. Finally, thanks to Dale Chason for all the great pictures. Enjoy!!
