What You Need To Know...

The Nomination Committee will be responsible for recording all nominations during the July and August meetings.  At the September meeting, they will pass out ballots, collect them, and then count the votes and present the President with the results of the election.

As mentioned above, nominations will be taken during the July and August meetings only.  To be nominated and/or elected for any office, a Chapter member must be a member in good standing for a period of one (1) year or longer and must be present at the meeting to accept the nomination.  The person must be a full member at the time of the nomination and have earned their patches.  If an elected officer wishes to run for a new office he/she must first resign from the office they now hold at the election meeting prior to the vote.  If a member of the nomination committee receives a nomination and they wish to accept, they must first remove themselves from the nomination committee.

THERE WILL BE NO LAST MINUTE NOMINATIONS AT THE SEPTEMBER MEETING.

Duties of the offices up for election are as follows:

Vice President; the VP will take the President’s place when absent. The Vice President will fulfill all the duties of the President during the President’s absence.

Treasurer; this individual will have custody of all the Organization’s funds and securities keeping a full and accurate account of all receipts and disbursements in the corporate ledger. The treasurer will disburse the funds of the Organization as directed by the Board.  The treasurer is also responsible for a monthly report to be presented at each general membership meeting.

Board Members; duties of the BOD will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Provide for the daily operation of the chapter in the absence of the President and Vice President

  2. Review by-laws annually, author changes as required for presentation to the general membership, submit changes to National for final approval

  3. Review allegations against any member or officer for non-participation or misconduct; determine appropriate action to be taken

  4. Review recommendations to suspend, sanction, or discipline any member of The Chapter; determine appropriate action to be taken

  5. Review attendance records of members due patches and make recommendations for or against issuance of patches

  6. Establish an annual budget for submission to the membership of The Chapter

  7. Approve expenditures up to the amount of $120 for operational requirements of The Chapter

Only members in good standing are eligible to vote.  All elected positions have a 2-year term, and the newly elected officers will assume their duly elected office at the end of the September meeting.  Names of nominees will be posted here after the July and August meetings.

If anyone has any questions at all concerning elections, they should contact the chapter President, John Parker, or the Chairman of the Board, Jim Hollister.
